Your storybook is yours

Privacy policy

Last updated: 1 November 2026

This policy covers the Storyfold: Puzzle Tales app for iPhone and iPad and this website. There is no app-specific account, advertising identifier collection or cross-app tracking. Apple services, purchase verification, downloads and support handle information as described below.

Your progress and settings

Puzzles in progress, finished scenes, your storybook, keepsakes and settings such as music volume, handedness and accessibility options are stored in the app on your device. They stay there until you delete the app or its data. Your device’s backups may also include them.

iCloud

If you’re signed in to iCloud, the app keeps a small copy of your journey (which scenes and tales you’ve finished, at what size, and the keepsakes you’ve earned) in your iCloud account using Apple’s iCloud key-value storage. This lets a new or reinstalled device pick up where you left off. The copy belongs to your Apple Account; we can’t see or access it. Apple’s privacy policy applies.

Game Center

If you’re signed in to Game Center, the app reports the achievements and keepsakes you earn so they appear there. Apple handles Game Center authentication and may show a sign-in screen. Achievement reporting requires you to be signed in.

Purchases

Tales are bought through the App Store. Apple processes the payment; we never receive your name, email address or payment details. To unlock a purchased tale, the app sends Apple’s signed proof of purchase for that tale to our download service. The service checks it with Apple’s signature and returns the tale’s artwork. The proof of purchase includes transaction identifiers and is used only to confirm the purchase and deliver the tale.

Downloading tales

Little Red Riding Hood and the first scene of each tale are included in the app. Purchased tales are downloaded from our content service, which runs on Cloudflare. Like any web server, it processes your IP address and the request to deliver the files and protect the service. See Cloudflare’s privacy policy. After downloading, tales play offline.

App analytics and crash reports from Apple

The game contains no analytics or crash-reporting code of its own. If you choose to share analytics with app developers (Settings → Privacy & Security → Analytics & Improvements), Apple can provide usage statistics and technical crash reports, which may include device and diagnostic details. You can turn this off at any time in the same place.

Links outside the app

When you finish a scene, the app may show a small card about Storyfold, our game for PC. Tapping it opens the Steam store in your browser, where Valve’s privacy policy applies. You can dismiss the card for good. Nothing in the game depends on it, and we don’t track whether you tap it.

Children

The app has no app-specific accounts, advertising or cross-app tracking. The Apple services and download handling described above also apply when children use the app. Purchases go through Apple, where parents can require approval with Ask to Buy.

Visiting this website

This website has no cookies, analytics or advertising. Our hosting provider processes connection information, such as your IP address, to deliver and protect the site. Fonts are served by Google Fonts, which receives your IP address when loading them.

Contacting us

If you write to support, we use what you send (your email address, message and any screenshots) only to answer you. We keep the conversation while helping you and for necessary follow-up. You can ask us to delete it at any time.

Deleting your data

Delete the app to remove everything stored on your device. To remove the iCloud copy, go to Settings → [your name] → iCloud → Manage Account Storage and delete Puzzle Tales’ data where that option is available. Turning off iCloud stops future synchronization but does not necessarily delete an existing copy. Game Center achievements are managed in Game Center. Your purchases stay with your Apple Account and can be restored when you reinstall.

Changes

If the game starts handling information differently, we’ll update this page and the date at the top before the change ships.
